Dave Chappelle Equanimity & the Bird Revelation Reviews
A Sharper Dave!
Dave is back and brilliant! You might not get all the raunchiness that your teen-aged self would want, merely y'all laugh. You'll say Dave is correct, Right On! Highly recommend for Chappelle fans and non-Chappelle fans.

Haters gonna hate ...
Wow ... Dave is back, baby! Dave continues to keep it real and raw westward/o being too vindictive and spiteful. He doesn't spare anyone'south feelings, nevertheless, he still manages to get in a positive feel. He'due south a real principal of his craft.
Btw, pay no listen to the other reviewers (haters). They're probably Trumpets, who want us all to hate on each other. Dave hasn't fallen off, he's always touched upon "social justice" matters in his shows, whether it's law brutality or transgender issues. Real Chappelle "fans" would know and capeesh this, and not bitch almost it after.
Warning: If y'all're offended by scenes of people of all colours, creeds, and sexual persuasions laughing and having a proficient time together ... then don't sentinel! Simple.

Funny
I enjoyed this prove a lot. I am a big fan of all of Dave Chappelle'southward one-act. He has to exist one of the all-time stand upwards comedians in the world. The jokes are well written and well executed. Honestly this is non his all-time show, but, I would argue this is nonetheless ameliorate than anything ninety% of all other stand ups shows. My just real criticism is when he gets political and talks most social justice. I practise non accept to agree with him near everything to detect him funny, just, there were a few times where I wished he would move on and become back to the jokes. On the whole, it is really funny and if yous are a fan you volition probably savour it.

Primary comedian!
I'one thousand not a fan of Dave Chapelle, only I am a fan of excellence. The way he masterfully crafts his jokes and is then raw and honest, I beloved information technology. He made me cringe every bit he spoke but that'southward what truth does. Just wow.

If you lot're looking for cheap laughs wait elsewhere
This is a masterclass. Look, the jokes arent quick and quirky , only the stories that lead upwardly to the hilarity takes fourth dimension to build, to appreciate. I enjoyed the stories and I enjoyed the eventual funny twist. Dave's back and he'southward different, people change, he'south non a cooked up pothead anymore, the man is a poet and he's brilliant.
If you want quick crappy jokes and so listen to Katt Williams or Corey Holcomb, this is philosophy with a funny bone.
I did wish he didn't fustigate Trump but thats the season present it seems.

Best of his recent Netflix resurgence
Equanimity is relevant, deep, and modernistic. I thought his first two were ok... only this ane seemed truly equanimous and prepared. If made you express mirth and shared a message at the same time.

Damn, He Proficient.
I don't know how he does it, but Chappelle always manages to be "almost offensive".
Now, that'due south a skill.

This man is a living fable
For all the people criticising him for being besides political or too straightforward: At 1 point in the bear witness he precisely addresses these people for being sensible and sulky. Great comedy is supposed to offend everyone and anyone. And Chappelle is a grandiose comedian of our time.

The caprine animal
Dave Chapelle is the caprine animal and this is one of his finest works. Its current rating is ridiculously low for the quality of this masterpiece.

Didn't express mirth in one case
0w0 1 September 2019
I literally didn't laugh once... not even joking
I loved Dave'south previous specials like "Killin' Them Softly" and "For What Information technology's Worth", but these Netflix specials simply aren't funny. I all the same love and respect Dave for his awesome previous specials, simply these latest ones are a blemish on his career.

Go an human activity
Chapelle sits effectually and talks about things that interest or impact him. If I was his friend I might find information technology interesting. I'm not his friend. I tuned in to hear some stand up-up comedy not some sit down blather.

Hilarious, but non as consistently so as his earlier stuff
A 2017 stand-upward special by comedian Dave Chappelle, produced past Netflix. Covers ground that fans of Dave Chappelle will exist used to, east.g. race issues, plus looks into the electric current political state of affairs in the U.s..
If you're a fan of Dave Chappelle, as I am, you'll know what to expect - biting, irreverent, fearless humour, delivered in distinctive colourful fashion. Screamingly funny at times, making you think it was the early 2000s all over again.
However, not e'er funny, unfortunately. Chappelle goes into United states of america politics and often it'south more than a rant than joke. Even his jokes on the subject area seem predictable and beneath him. He should just have stuck to his usual subjects and stayed clear of politics.
Ultimately, very funny, but in spells - quite uneven. Too many dull bits to be bright. Different his before stuff, which never had an unfunny moment.

IMDb needs to set up this new format I can not see what I am typing
I am a huge fan of Dave. You lot tin even bank check out the reviews a made for his other Netflix specials if you do not believe me. Anyway, this special didn't do it for me. Information technology was okay at best, maybe he ready the bar too high? He fifty-fifty makes a joke about how easy comedy is for him merely frankly it was like he wasn't trying hard enough - until the end of the special for like fifteen minutes. Anyhow, I'm going to literally lookout man the other special right now and promise information technology is amend and then this.

Equanimity
Another great one-act special, as all of DP are. He's truly a legend of the genre and is not afraid of speaking what everyone else is thinking. Besides criticizing everyone and everything, it still gives you messages to have dwelling house and reflect on. Always funny, e'er capable of making me feel better in a rainy day.

Standup Is Not For The Stupid
I volition concede that at that place are limits to adept sense of taste.. but something really has to exist crass for me to exist offended. If a comedian was an obvious misogynist and glorified rape, I would be disgusted. If a comedian riffed on "hilarity" of child abuse, I would get up and walk out. But when a brilliant author of comedy, with perfect timing and impeccable delivery, that has charisma and a rapport with the audience, has u.s.a. laughing at ourselves over the idiosyncrasies of our race, gender, religion, economic standing, etc., then I am totally entertained and not the slightest fleck offended.. because THIS is what makes comedy one-act! Finding sense of humor in our humanness is the very cadre of comedy, and has always been the stem from which one-act sprouts.
Chappelle is, as others have pointed out (and I can retrieve of no better descriptive) the Primary of stand-up! I laughed my ample derriere off from start to finish - all the while in awe of Dave'southward brilliant mind. His sense of humor is topical and relevant, and it'southward obvious, to anyone who doesn't view life as deadpan serious, that he is the consummate "Every-man".. meaning, he has a way of relating to, and appreciating, every kind of human existence. That'due south important in comedy.
A successful comic must have the skill to excerpt and exploit the nuances of social behavior if they want to make people express mirth. If you think you lot're going to be entertained by a comic getting up on stage and cracking jokes well-nigh the weather, or their dog'southward cute antics.. well, you might chuckle.. merely you're not going to choke on your popcorn and laugh then hard that yous weep, like yous would if he (or she) did a bit about a beliefs that is unique to you or your respective group. (For instance, how Italians tin't talk without making wild hand gestures, or how Canadians punctuate every other argument with an "eh?" We all - near of us, anyhow - become a big boot out of seeing someone "do" u.s.). Remember of the difference betwixt a caricaturist who over-emphasizes the bailiwick's large ears and jowls, and minimizes his tiny chin - vs a caricaturist who draws a perfect likeness of the discipline. The latter is just not funny. (Nor a caricaturist). Representative art can be skillful, merely does non commonly evoke any emotions. Might every bit well take a photograph.
I will always cull a Dave Chappelle routine over pretty much any other comedian. He's spectacularly funny, simply he'due south also a man of depth. He brings up the bespeak in this special, nigh how difficult information technology is for a performer to say or exercise anything in today'due south earth without offending someone (and I would like to add, often with life-affecting repercussions). Sadly, he's not wrong. I hope our social climate becomes more tolerable in the well-nigh future, and that he returns to the phase to entertain those of usa who understand the difference between satire and reality.

Chappelle ain't no Stone
That should say information technology all virtually the show. Dave Chapelle is no Chris Stone. He is a expert showman. He is a professional. He is experienced. He has fabric. Only I could non find it funny. Tastes may differ. Just he is some sort of slim Cedric the Entertainer trying to offend and at the aforementioned fourth dimension god forbid he might offend anyone. And information technology'due south a tough life. There are as well many comics out in that location to matter if he is funny or not. So he has to be offensive. Yet, this is probably the worst time in the history of stand upward to be offensive. So the result is perfect equilibrium: zero.

What a let downwards
Dave Chappelle is my favorite comedian of all fourth dimension so you tin imagine my thwarting having to give this a ane star. The commencement half of the show was hilarious and had us all laughing out loud (in typical Dave fashion). The second one-half on the other hand was Dave telling the Emmett Till story (which is in no way funny) and bashing our President (Trump). If I wanted to here an hr of that, I'd simply melody in to CNN. I promise Dave gets back to his original style of comedy and stays away from biased politics and detest offense stories

Nowhere near every bit good as he used to be.
Dave Chappelle definitely striking his prime number with the Chappelle Show, and the reason that was such an epic show and was so funny was due to no filter beingness used. He took the piss out of everyone and anybody knew he didn't accept whatsoever real issue with anyone it was just comedy all done in good taste.
In this show he starts by acknowledging how "brittle" people have now become and how super sensitive they are to any kind of joke which is critical (and all humour is if you think about it).
Unfortunately he and so deteriorates into what sounds like a behemothic amends to anyone he has "offended" and finishes it off jumping on the political bandwagon in some seemingly weak attempt to make it up to the left wing snowflakes that won't like his comedy no affair what he says.
In all honesty I was disappointed with his approach, if he had come out and finished similar he had started this would have been crawly, instead he now looks similar a fleck of a beaten downward submissive and no one wants annihilation to do with one of them.

Ignorant
I've always been a Dave Chappelle fan... until I watched this display of accented pandering to the sheeple of the left. He's more than intelligent than what he says in this special, well at to the lowest degree I thought he was, I'm non sure anymore. This is the terminal thing I will watch from Dave. If you take common sense, you won't notice this funny, if you think CNN is honest news, then you're probably ignorant enough to enjoy this crapfest.

One of the best stand ups you can ever watch
I'm non even from the U.s.a. but do follow US related news and I would say I discover Dave and his Netflix specials ane of the best. If your "ears aren't too brittle" then you'll find this special crawly.
I would rate Self-possession the pinnacle 1 or 2 on all of Dave's Netflix specials.
